Transforming the weight of mental health struggles into collective strength by sharing authentic stories born in the wild.

WHO WE ARE

Hike The Good Hike is a nonprofit dedicated to harnessing the healing power of the wilderness to support those facing depression and mental health challenges.

Founded by Triple Crown hiker Jesse Cody—who traversed over 17,000 miles to shine a light on nature-based wellness—our mission connects individuals to healing, community, and the resilience found in the outdoors. Through advocacy, community support, and high-impact storytelling, we work to help people rewrite their own stories for the better.

In Fall 2025, HTGH will begin filming its first documentary, co-produced by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Andy Laub. This human-interest story follows four hikers on the Lowest to Highest Trail, from Death Valley’s Badwater Basin to the summit of Mount Whitney. Their journey mirrors the transformative power of nature on mental health, embodying HTGH’s mission to inspire and support through the healing power of the outdoors.
